Bucles is an always in process independent research collective* operating from Valdivia, Santiago, and Berlin.

Established by Joaquín Zerené, Dusan Cotoras, and Diego Gómez-Venegas, Bucles is a transdisciplinary endeavor working at the intersection of media studies, media theories, and critical theory, with an open and ongoing interest in the philosophy of technology, media aesthetics, the history of science, and cybernetics. While Bucles was originally formed in 2017 as an informal unit of research, dialogue, and thought in Santiago de Chile, our current geographical separation has forced our work to rely on telematic dialog and action, which in turn informs our own individual processes.

* First, always in process, because it does not seek to establish itself as a formal unit, but rather to remain focused on its own tranjectory, on its transformation and on the processes that cause this transformation; and independent, because its activities are not located in any particular institution, but rather inhabit the spaces of action and interest that separate and connect its team members.
