We believe in the still current necessity of an essayistic and speculative mode of research
Even though we think the scientific approach to research is indispensable for the constitution of common knowledge, we also think that the current state of academia in capitalistic societies tends to confirm and thus reproduce the context in which such state happens to be; that is, capitalism. Thus, while this affects all areas of knowledge and research, we consider this matter as particularly relevant to the arts, the humanities, and the social sciences —our own fields of work and interest—. We are committed, therefore, to explore modes of research that can yield to imagine new forms of constructing and thinking the human, societies, and cultures. In our perspective, the open horizon of essay and speculation, both in textual and material forms, allow such modes of exploration and imagination.
